Japan Fashion Week and my friend's brother
It was my first time to see an actual fashion show and I witnessed my friend's brother's Tokyo debut as a highly expected young designer! His name is Taro Horiuchi and he established his own brand "Taro Horiuchi".
He studied Fashion at Academie Royale des Beaux-Arts d'Anvers and recently graduated with an award, and also won a brand award by Diesel, one of the distinctive award among young designers in the industry. Well...very promissing, huh?
And now he's back in Tokyo to start up his career as a professional and his debut was to be introduced as a "Discovered talent in Europe 2007".
It was held at one of the most up-and-coming new landmarks of Tokyo, Tokyo Midtown, where all the new trends will be born, and all the biggest brand, restaurant, and art gather. There was no catwalk. Models walked through a garden with music coming from a player carried by a staff, and took a route inside the shopping mall, through shops and visitors, and appeared in front of hundreds of people and press. It was really cool show, the idea, the fashion, and their enthusiasm.
If Taro Horiuchi get really successful, I'd be the lucky one to have witnessed his debut!
