Crisis in the Middle EastAs you all know, horrible exchange of hostility is going on in the Middle East (specially between Israel and Lebanon). Already nearly 400 people were killed in both side-more than 300 Lebanese (most of them were civilians) and 31 Israeli (including 16 soldiers) at the moment. More than 500,000 people can be refugees because of this crisis. Everyday western media (specially CNN! That's why Tokyo bureau is so quiet, but there are still chance that our cameraman and producer need to go there to assist...) show brutal images all over especially in Lebanon. Sometimes, there are some images that editors had to put mosaic because they were too terrible to show. Beirut seems to be practically destroyed and citizens who have no way out finally started to evacuate to some neighbor countries.
Before in London having made friends with people from the Middle East (Lebanon, Afganistan, Iran and Iraq), many crises in the past were somehow not my own affair, but this time a huge powerless feeling/anger/worry hit me watching people die or run for their life... What if some of them are relatives/friends/neighbors of my friends!?
On TV, newspapers etc, people tend to focus on the political situation, Governments are playing their power games, but who suffer the most??? They are missing the point. F*** the politics and power games, save lives for any God's sake!
